Worker's Compensation

Jim Ackerman has recovered millions of dollars in benefits for injured workers. He will act aggressively, set emergency hearings, demand penalties, and he will not back down when an injured worker needs help.

A workplace is not allowed to fire an worker because he or she files a workers' compensation claim.

Unlike personal injury or medical malpractice cases that usually have pretty specific time limits before it is too late to file a claim, Illinois Workers' Compensation claims are not as straight forward. Numerous people have thought that it was too late for them to file a claim when in fact there was still time. The law in Illinois is that you must file within three years from your accident date or two years from the last payment of compensation related to your claim, whichever is later.

Workers Compensation Injuries include (but not limited to):
Back Injuries
Spinal Injuries
Death Cases
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome/RSD
Repetitive Stress/Trauma
Construction Injuries
Crane Injuries
Ladder Injuries
Scaffolding Injuries

Workers' Compensation Benefits include:
Lifetime medical
Temporary Total Disability/TTD
Permanent Partial Disability/PPD
Permanent Total Disability/PTD

On June 28, 2011 Governor Quinn signed HB1698 into law.
