Animal Bites are a type of personal injury sustained to a person by an animal. Most animal bite cases are related to dog bites.

Each year there are 5 million dog bites reported in the United States. About 2 million of those bites result in serious injuries. In many cases a person bitten by an animal may have a legal right to recover damages from the animal's owner or another responsible party.

The Illinois Animal Control Act allows victims of animals who are not provoked to sue the owner of the animal.
